Ómun
Ásdís Sif – Nico Guerrero – Tristan Zand
The piece grows out of a project called Omun and performed early March 2026 at the Nullid gallery in Reykjavik, during the “Resonance” exhibition of Tristan Zand. It’s built around spoken word, combined with a minimalist and expressive musical setting: abstract guitar textures and bowed bass drones that slowly shift as one resonating entity.
Drifting between English and Icelandic spoken word, the narratives unfold dreamlike beneath the surface of ordinary reality, opening passages into more elusive spaces of consciousness. Familiar images slowly shift as intuition and symbolism take the place of linear logic, inviting the audience to wander through hidden layers of memory, myth, and unresolved questions of existence.
Rather than functioning as a musical backdrop, the sound acts more like the inner landscape of the narrator Asdis Sif. The guitar and bass move in subtle fluctuations that mirror and amplify the subjective, emotional and sometimes unconscious visions evoked by the words.
The six performances of the exhibition resulted in an upcoming album named ‘Òmun’ that will be soon available.
